The United States Secret Service Appreciation Awards are presented to individuals whose actions, dedication, and support have made a meaningful impact on the agency’s ability to carry out its mission. These awards reflect the gratitude of the men and women of the Secret Service for those who stand alongside them—whether through professional collaboration, personal sacrifice, or steadfast advocacy. They honor those who, while not wearing the badge, embody the same commitment to integrity, duty, and service to others.
For the Secret Service, these awards carry a special meaning. They are not given lightly, but only to those who have demonstrated exceptional support in protecting national leaders, safeguarding the financial infrastructure, or enhancing the overall readiness and resilience of the agency. In recognizing these contributions, the Service underscores the truth that its mission is not accomplished alone—it relies on strong partnerships, trusted allies, and individuals who share in the responsibility of service to country. Each award is therefore both a token of appreciation and a lasting symbol of respect.
“I want to express my deepest gratitude for your extraordinary dedication to those whose lives an health were forever changed on 9/11”, said Dennis Letts, retired USSS Agent and Dr. Udasin’s patient. “It is my honor to present you with this iconic photo of the WTC ruins”, continued Letts, “captured by my good friend, NYPD Detective Dave Fitzpatrick.
Congratulations to Dr. Udasin for this prestigious award.
