September 24, 2015 – Sally Radovick, M.D. – The critical role of kisspeptin regulation of reproduction and metabolism

During her presentation, Dr. Radovick provided detailed information about the goal of her studies:to provide in vitro and in vivo characterization of the signals and cell-specific proteins that mediate hypothalamic GnRH gene expression during puberty and reproduction.

September 17, 2015 – Eunsook Lee, E.Ph., Ph.D. – “Astrocytic glutamate transporters as potential drug targets to treat neurodegenerative diseases: Mechanism of manganese (Mn)-induced neurotoxicity via astrocytic glutamate transporters”

During her presentation, Dr. Lee shared some of the findings on how YY1 regulates Mn-induced repression of GLT-1, a mechanism that could lead to the development of potential drugs to treat neurodegenerative diseases.
