New Director of EOHSI, Helmut Zarbl, Ph.D. has been announced

After an extensive search, Helmut Zarbl, Ph.D has been selected to serve as Director of the Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences Institute (EOHSI) and Chair of the Environmental & Occupational Health Department of the School of Public Health.

Dr. Zarbl’s, currently a Professor in the Rutgers School of Public Health – Department of Environmental & Occupational Health and Director of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) sponsored Center for Environmental Exposures and Disease, is the author of over 80 research papers and book chapters. His extensiive research is focused on understanding the molecular, genetic and epigenetic mechanisms that contribute to toxicity, mutagenesis, carcinogenesis, genetic susceptibility, genomics and chemoprevention.

EOHSI faculty, staff and students look forward to the enthusiasm and new vision for the institute to catalyze “its potential to be one of the nation’s leading environmental health and science institutes”, as Chancellor Strom put it in his announcement.
