Posting Summary

The purpose of the Research Teaching Specialist IV position is to support research that focuses on understanding and promoting health-related behaviors among individuals with cancer and those at risk for cancer, under the direction of the Principal Investigator.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Master’s Degree in a relevant social science or related field (e.g. psychology, social work, public health or social science) or Bachelor’s Degree plus one (1) year of relevant research experience. Prior field experience in medical research and project management an asset. Demonstrated excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and an ability to set priorities for productivity. Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative, yet seek supervision as appropriate. Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to motivate and recruit study participants. Ability to work flexible hours (including evenings and weekends), as needed. Possesses own vehicle or alternative means of transportation from one site to another. Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
