Dr. Mingzhu Fang (Assistant Professor at EOHSI) initiated and developed a collaborative research project: “Development of an Alternative Research Strategy to Screen and Classify the Neurotoxicity and Hepatotoxicity Potential of Environmental Toxicants, Including Veterinary Drugs” with Dr. Hwan-Goo Kang, a Senior Researcher at the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency, Republic of Korea (QIA-Korea). This project was supported for three years by QIA-Korea. The resulting insight from this project will facilitate the development of fast screening methods for the risk assessment of environmental contaminants, including veterinary drugs.

Dr. Yongil Park, DVM is a researcher in the Veterinary Drugs and Biologics Division of QIA-Korea and is also a Ph.D. candidate in the Toxicology graduate program of The College of Veterinary Medicine at Seoul National University. Dr. Fang is hosting and mentoring Dr. Park here at EOHSI from June through November 2015.
