Rutgers Corona Cohort Study Results : Pre-print manuscript under review

The first pre-print from the Rutgers Corona Cohort is now available on medRxiv. The manuscript is still under review at a journal, however medRxiv is now widely used to disseminate results, particularly for time-sensitive studies like the Rutgers Corona Cohort Study.

The results demonstrate much higher rates of SARS-CoV-2 among health care workers compared to non-health care workers. Nurses were particularly impacted as were the staff at University Hospital Newark (as compared to our other study site at RWJUH). To our knowledge, this is currently the largest study of SARS-CoV-2 among health care workers In the US and the only one that also includes a non-health care worker comparison group.

The Executive Committee investigators includes Emily Barrett, her co-lead author, Dan Horton and the co-senior authors (and RCC PIs), Rey Panettieri, Jeff Carson, and Marty Blaser.
