Location: School of Public Health, Room 3A, 683 Hoes Lane West, Piscataway, NJ

Title of seminar: TBD

Dr. Ettinger holds an ScD in Environmental Epidemiology from Harvard and an MS in Human Nutrition from Columbia. She has extensive experience in evaluating environmental exposures to children in Mexico and since 2010 has been Assistant Professor in the Department of  Chronic Disease Epidemiology at the Yale School of Public Health. Her  research focuses on the intergenerational effects of environmental contaminants and nutritional influences on maternal and child health in a global context.  She seeks to understand how factors, such as dietary nutrients, common genetic variants, and epigenetic events, may modify underlying susceptibility to environmental exposures in the maternal-fetal unit and, ultimately, impact toxicant-induced pregnancy and developmental outcomes. Dr. Ettinger is particularly interested in identifying potential nutritional interventions aimed at improving health disparities due to environmental exposures in vulnerable populations.
