How can you help?

Study Details

Title of Study: Activate Macrophages and Ozone Toxicity

Principal Investigator: Howard Kipen, MD, MPH

Purpose: In this study, we are trying to determine the effect of ozone, a common air pollutant, on the health and function of the human lung.

Who Participates: Non-smoker adults between the ages of 18 and 40.

Study Procedures: 

The study requires five (5) visits to the EOHSI clinic:

  • A physical exam with blood test
  • Exposure to ozone
  • Mild to moderate exercise
  • Collection of sputum, blood, urine and breath samples

Compensation: Up to $450 for completing all parts of the study.
