Mission Statement
The Resource Center of the Environmental and Occupational Health
Sciences Institute advances environmental and occupational health
literacy worldwide by connecting the environment to human health for
audiences through educational initiatives. Programs and services
include:
- K-12th grade and vocational curricular materials emphasizing
cooperative learning, critical thinking, decision making and problem
solving skills using the environment as a theme for learning across
disciplines
- Teacher professional development opportunities for formal and
non-formal educators focusing on curriculum dissemination and
integration strategies
- Scientist involvement ensuring unbiased and accurate material
development and enhancing dissemination of information in classrooms,
training sessions or through individual counsel
- Fact sheets, videos, newsletters and technology-based materials
serving as comprehensive resources to fortify our mission for
environmental and occupational health literacy
