Exposure Analysis and Health Effects Research Core

The Exposure Analysis and Health Effects Core overall goals are to conduct research on the theory, techniques and methods required to analyze human environmental exposures, identify sentinels of exposure, and examine individual and population response to exposure.  The specific goals of the Core are:

  • Develop mechanistic and diagnostic models of exposure and pharmacokinetics to estimate the dose received by a target organ from toxic agents.

  • Develop and employ analytical techniques which can measure inorganic/organic specie and/or biologic markers of exposure or effect.

  • Design human exposure-response studies for environmental levels of toxic agents in controlled and field situations.

  • Develop and conduct epidemiological research on environmental exposures and health on the effects of toxic agents. CHAMP final report Oct 2005 Acrobat file

  • Develop clinical studies of physiological and psychological predictors of outcomes from exposures to environmental stressors.
