The recommended textbook is Understanding Pathophysiology, 3rd Edition (2004), by Huether and McCance. Supplemental reading in physiology and anatomy may prove useful to some individuals.
Websites of Interest: Several websites provide
excellent images of pathological conditions and discussion of disease
mechanisms. You are encouraged to visit them. The best are:

Examinations: Three examinations will be given in
this course. Each examination will contribute approximately
one-third to the final grade. The total number of points from the
three exams will be used in final grade calculations. The
examinations are not cumulative.
Make-Up Exams: Students are expected to take all
exams on the days scheduled. Approval for a make-up exam will be
given only if there is adequate documentation that absence from an exam
was absolutely unavoidable. If permission to take a make-up exam
is granted, the format of the exam (usually oral) will be at the
discretion of the Course Director.
Office Hours:
Dr. Kenneth Reuhl (445-6909; reuhl@eohsi.rutgers.edu) is the Course Director. His office is in the Neurotoxicology Laboratories, 41B Gordon Road, on the Livingston Campus. Office hours at the EOSHI Building next to the School of Pharmacy will be arranged.
Dr. Carol Gardner (445-4702; cgardner@eohsi.rutgers.edu) is co-Director.
Her office is in Room 001 of the Pharmacy Building. Office hours will be arranged.
Policy on Academic Integrity: As students in a
professional degree program, individuals are expected to conduct
themselves with a high standard of personal and academic
integrity. Cheating in any form will not be tolerated. Any
documented violation will result in failure of the course and probable
further action.
