Dr. Brian Buckley is the Executive Director of Labs and Facilities at the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute (EOHSI) and is a member of the graduate faculty at Rutgers University. Dr. Buckley received a B.S. in chemistry for the University of New Hampshire in 1983, a PhD in analytical chemistry from North Carolina State University in 1989 and has also had a post-doctoral appointment at The Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He has worked as a Laboratory Manager for the Nestles Quality Assurance Laboratory in Dublin Ohio. Currently he is specializing in spectroscopic, mass spectrometric and chromatographic instrument modification for matrix specific analyses. His work has focused on methods development for the analysis of environmental contaminants at their biological interface. His research group has specialized in biofluid extractions, trace metals quantification and speciation by chromatography coupled to plasma mass spectrometry. He has been working on Microwave Assisted Solvent Extraction (MASE) and Ion Trap Mass Spectrometric analysis techniques for active contaminants and their metabolites for the last four years.
